• According to one of the writers, Octane is one-half-Mexican and half-Spanish.^[33]
• Octane'due south abilities are derived from Titanfall 2'south Stim tactical ability, which provided both healing and speed. His backstory was inspired past the way players would speedrun The Pilot'due south Gauntlet using grenades for speed boosts. • Octane had the option of waiting for his legs to heal upwards, merely chose to instead take his legs replaced with robotic ones.^[43]
• Octane's legs are made of steel, referred by Octane himself in his character select quips: "Pause a leg, mine are made of steel."
• Octane dyes his hair. In the "Family Portrait" comic, he dyes his hair green. However, author Tom Casiello unsaid that Octane dyes his hair a whole variety of colors.^[44]
• One of Octane's kill quips, "You need to move faster than that, amigo. Speed is life.", is a reference to Titanfall two's Apex Predator, Viper, who repeatedly says, "You need to move faster than that, son. Speed is life."
• Octane'due south male parent remarries often. Octane feels no connection to his spouses, so he refers to them as numbers. He calls his biological mother "Number Two."^[3]
• It is unknown why Octane's existent mother was gone for most of his life.
• Octane hates nothing more wearing pants. ^[eleven]
• Octane was unlocked for free between Feb 8-15, 2022, in commemoration of the 3rd Anniversary of Apex Legends.
